During our first visit, we were told that the residents needed clothing and only had one or maybe two pieces per person. Upon our return, we custom made house robes for the men and women as well as bedsheet sets for each person. The joy on their faces was priceless!
We provide a monthly supply of food to the residents of the "Madonna Mercy Family" village, which is a home for the abandoned elderly and the vulnerable. In addition, we periodically provide them with clothing, beddings, wheelchairs, air fresheners, cleaning materials, and more.
In partnership with local communities, Amede.org has embarked on a transformative initiative to provide clean water to villages in need. Recognizing the fundamental importance of access to safe drinking water for health, sanitation, and overall well-being, we have implemented sustainable solutions tailored to the unique needs of each village. Through the construction of wells, boreholes, and water purification systems, we are not only addressing immediate water scarcity issues but also empowering communities to take control of their own water resources.
Our response to the growing needs of aging populations in rural villages, our charity organization has initiated a comprehensive partnership with eldercare facilities, to provide compassionate and dignified support for the elderly. Recognizing the challenges faced by elderly individuals abandoned, and now living in remote areas, we assist in providing food, transportation and volunteer staffing. We are working on providing more support towards specific needs of abandoned elderly residents, including medical care, nutritional support, social activities, and companionship.
An educated child is the hope and future of a community. Amede.org is deeply invested in providing early childhood education to villages in need of children's education. Recognizing the critical importance of early childhood development, we have established vibrant and nurturing learning programs, tailored to the unique needs of young children in rural communities. These centers are staffed by dedicated educators who are trained as passionate towards child development and early learning methodologies as we are, ensuring that each child receives the individualized attention and support they need to thrive.
Women's health and women's needs require a multifaceted approach that addresses the unique challenges faced by women in these regions. Amede.org is embarking on partnership with different states to increase women's access to essential healthcare services such as maternal care, family planning, and reproductive health education.
Furthermore, we are also addressing socio-economic factors such as poverty, cultural barriers and loss of partner or family member that results in financial hardship. Women need a system that can promote sustainability and a happy balance of livelihood, confidence in self, and a safe space to contriubute to their communities. Collaboration between governments, other non-profit organizations, and international agencies is essential to implement these interventions effectively and ensure that women in Nigeria have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
We encourage you to join the committment of any of the initiatives that promote better life for women's needs, abandoned elderly and children's education!
